Incline Village, Nevada: A Safe Place to Live
|
 |
 |
 |
There are 27 sworn deputies assigned full-time to the Incline
Village substation of Washoe County Sheriffs department. With
a staffing level of 2.7 deputies per 1,000 people that's well
above the national average is about 1.5 per 1,000.
A recent public opinion survey conducted by the Washoe County
Sheriff's Office, covering Incline Village and Crystal Bay,
showed that 97 percent of people surveyed believed Washoe
County was a safe place to live.
Since the communities are relatively small deputies are
encouraged to become involved in the community. Many deputies
also live within the local community.
|
|
Local community policing also has the metropolitan resources of
the Washoe County Sheriffs office in Reno available for use when
need.
The Sheriff's Incline Village substation also hosts an annual
community picnic. It is is a free event for members of the
community to attend complete with a barbecue, beverages, rides
for the kids and equipment and personnel available to answer
questions.
